Accessibility Statement
Moel Famau Pumpkins – Accessibility Policy
Effective Date: 10/08/2025
At Moel Famau Pumpkins, we want everyone to enjoy their visit to our family run farm. We are committed to being as inclusive and accessible as possible, within the practical limits of a working, rural site. The following policy outlines how we support accessibility and what visitors can expect.
1. Site Accessibility
1.1 Our pumpkin patch and event areas are located on uneven, grassy fields typical of a working farm.
1.2 While we strive to create accessible pathways where possible, ground conditions may become muddy, slippery or uneven, especially in wet weather.
1.3 Due to these natural conditions, wheelchair access and pram access may be limited, particularly after rain. We recommend all visitors wear appropriate footwear and dress for the outdoors.
2. Parking
2.1 Limited on-site parking is available, including a small number of spaces closer to the main entrance which we aim to reserve for visitors with mobility needs where possible.
2.2 If you require accessible parking, please contact us in advance to discuss your needs and ensure availability.
2.3 If you do not advise us of your accessibility requirements in advance, staff may be limited in their ability to implement reasonable adjustments to facilitate your access to the site.
3. Toilets
3.1 There are no toilets on-site at Moel Famau Pumpkins, although this is something we are working on for future events.
3.2 The nearest public toilets are located at Cilcain Village Hall, approximately ¼ mile from the farm. These facilities are clean, well-maintained, and accessible during most daytime hours.
3.3 We recommend visitors plan accordingly, especially when visiting with young children or those with additional needs.
4. Assistance & Support
4.1 Our friendly team is happy to assist where possible. If you or a member of your group has specific access requirements, please get in touch before your visit so we can offer guidance or make reasonable adjustments where feasible.
4.2 We encourage carers or support workers to accompany those with additional needs. Please contact us regarding entry arrangements for carers.
5. Dogs & Assistance Animals
5.1 For the safety of visitors and livestock, dogs are not permitted on the premises, including in vehicles.
5.2 Registered assistance dogs are welcome on the premises in accordance with applicable equality and access legislation.
5.3 Assistance dogs must remain on a lead, under the full control of their handler at all times and must not be permitted to approach or interfere with any livestock or enter restricted areas.
5.4 Handlers are responsible for ensuring their dog’s behaviour does not pose a risk to the safety, welfare or comfort of other visitors, staff or animals on site.
5.5 Assistance dogs must be cleaned up after promptly and handlers must take all reasonable steps to prevent their animal from urinating or defecating on or near any crops or produce.
5.6 Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the individual being asked to leave the premises, where such action is necessary to protect health, safety or the integrity of the site.
6. Events & Activities
6.2 Most of our children’s activities, games, and PYO experiences take place outdoors in open areas.
6.3 Some elements may not be suitable for visitors with certain mobility or sensory needs. We aim to provide clear signage and friendly guidance on-site to help visitors make informed choices.
6.4 As this is a working farm environment, parents and guardians are required to supervise their children at all times to ensure their safety
6.5 Moel Famau Pumpkins accept no liability for any injury, loss or damage arising from unsupervised children.
7. Website Accessibility
7.1 We are working to ensure our website is user-friendly and accessible to all visitors.
This site has been built using the Wix platform and is in the process of being adapted in accordance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines. We aim to meet the AA level of accessibility where possible. Our goal is to ensure compatibility with assistive technologies such as screen readers and keyboard-only navigation.
While we are actively working to improve, please note:
-
Some images do not yet include alt text or descriptive labels
-
Further improvements are planned to make the site more usable with screen readers and other assistive tools
We welcome feedback and are happy to help if you experience any issues accessing content. Please get in touch using the contact details below to report a problem or request information in an alternative format, and we'll do our best to assist.
